OLMC's Annual Feast of St. Patrick Dinner 2018
Our Lady of Mount Carmel invites the nearby community, the faithful from neighbouring parishes, and family to celebrate the Feast of St. Patrick
This year for OLMC'S St. Patrick fundraiser we were blessed to celebrate it on the saint's actual feast day. The event began with a Mass celebrated by Fr. Sherry in Our Lady of Mount Carmel's Chapel, which saw an overflow of people in attendance. Afterwards, all were invited to enjoy a hearty Irish meal and entertainment. As always, everyone was filled with a traditional Irish feast of roast beef, sausages, potatoes, and an assortment of vegetables, with of course, some soda bread. Entertainment included Irish dancing, singing by the boys choir, and the much anticipated Cleric-oke performance by the priest who gets the most money donated - this year, we not only got a song but also a guitar performance by Fr. Potvin.
All in attendance, young and old, were visited by the one and only St. Patrick himself! He also brought Fr. Sherry his (long awaited) 10th anniversary gift! The excitement didn't stop there: guests bid on various beautiful silent auction and raffle items, and as the night winded down, Fr. Sherry placed his auctioneer hat and sold off many grand items to many lucky bidders. Finally, to end the night off, a large raffle drum was brought out and St. Patrick reappeared to help announce the winners of the $2,000 travel voucher and $500 prizes. It was an eventful and fun evening with friends, family, and faithful! You can always look forward to our St. Patrick's Dinner event - it's definitely something you don't want to miss!
