The St. Patrick's Dinner is Our Lady of Mount Carmel's annual fundraiser event for the school, inviting everyone from the community and the neighbouring parishes. The event began with a Holy Mass to celebrate the feast of St. Patrick in th Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s Chapel. A total of 200+ attended and gathered into the gym to begin with a festive Irish meal filled with corn beef, potatoes, and soda bread. Throughout the event, guests were able to bid on lots of wonderful items at the Silent Auction tables and Raffle tables, donated by many supportive businesses around the Waterloo-Wilmot community. A new thing added this year was an activities room for young children, where they were able to colour, play games and watch a movie on the life of St. Patrick. Thus allowing both parents and children to fully enjoy the events' festivities.

Throughout the night, many enjoyable and exciting moments took place. The Gleeson family performed a wonderful Irish dance that is always an impressive act to see. Another new thing this year: “Cleric-oke”, gave us a performance by Fr. Sherry who won the most votes to sing in front of the guests. He gave a suitably excised rendition of the old Dubliners' song "The Sick Note". Of course, the St. Patrick’s dinner would not be without its always-thrilling Live Auction, which featured large versions of desserts that started a bid war between parents and boarders. And lastly, the night ended off with revealing the 1st place and 2nd place winners of the Travel Vouchers, which has been another on-going fundraiser.

Thank you to all of those that attended. This is an annual event that you will not want to miss! See you next year.
