The project of our new boarding facility has started with the renewing of our parking lots. The lots were firstly expanded to become sufficent to hold all of our potential visitors, and then were refinished with gravel temporarily. One year of letting the ground settle is necessary before the lots can be paved.
Spring awaits the actual groundbreaking for the building.
Construction Begins
Dear Friend of Our Lady of Mount Carmel,
Thank you for all your help to our Academy and our new building project. As you can see from the photographs, the first evidence of work has begun. Although the new building is intended to house at least 60 boarders and their housefathers, building regulations require us to provide more car parking – eighty places in total. We went ahead and have enlarged the parking lot. Eighty places will be very useful even if not absolutely necessary. Regarding the main body of the project, we are planning on an April 2016 start date. We are in the final stages of planning and formalities. We will be choosing one contractor from the final two left in the running at the beginning of February.
Thanks to your generosity, our fundraising campaign has been blessed – so far we have raised $136,000 through donations and fundraisers. This has been tripled by our main benefactor.
We still have much ground to cover. Please continue your prayers to our Mother who looks after us so well. Can you consider another donation at sometime over this new year? Thank you for your generosity. We will have to borrow money to pay for the project – please consider the possibility of a loan to the project. Private loans are being entered into by means of a binding agreement.
